5th-6th June 2026
We’re delighted to share that PL:21 will be represented at this year’s Rivers & Moorland Festival, taking place on 5th–6th June 2026 in Ivybridge and across Dartmoor. Andrew Price will be attending on behalf of PL:21, and we’d love to see you there.
What is the Rivers & Moorland Festival?
The Rivers & Moorland Festival is a celebration of Dartmoor’s arts, environment, and the communities who live and work on the moor. The inaugural event, centred on Ivybridge, brings together talks, guided walks, creative installations, live music, and a colourful Carnival Parade, all with a focus on the landscapes, rivers, and moorland that define this part of the South West.
What’s On?
There’s something for everyone across the two days:
- Friday 5th June kicks off with the opening of ERME, a striking public artwork by Close and Remote tracing the journey of the River Erme from Dartmoor to the sea, visible on Glanvilles Mill bridge. The evening features Moor Understanding talks hosted by Sustainable South Hams (1–7pm).
- Saturday 6th June brings the Carnival Parade along Fore Street at 11am — come dressed to reflect Dartmoor’s rivers and moorland — followed by the Ivybridge Festival in Victoria Park from 12–7pm, with live music, food, drink, and activities.
- Throughout the weekend, CANOPY — an immersive sound installation by Lorna Rees Company set in the temperate rainforest of Longtimber Woods — invites visitors to listen to the trees.
- Guided walks with the Dartmoor Outdoor Festival are also running throughout May and June.
Events like this, which bring people together around a shared sense of place, are vital for building the public understanding and engagement that meaningful environmental action depends on.
We hope to see you there. For full details on the programme, visit www.riversandmoorland.org.
